The walk to Whataburger on a normal day: 20 minutes to get there, 5 to pick up Jamie, 25 to get back.

The walk to Whataburger at 10pm, in 90 degree heat, during a raging thunderstorm: 17 minutes total, both parties meeting in the mittle, with no pauses, speed-walking the entire way.

It’s amazing what fear for your life can do.
